Zaid Ibrahim has suggested that the top five potential ministers from Pakatan Harapan throw an asset declaration challenge to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and four others.

He listed the other four as Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai as well as Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

He said the declaration should encompass their spouses and children as well.

"It will be useful if we have some potential Harapan ministers to come forward to challenge the BN ministers that they both agree to fully declare and explain their assets to the public.

"New revelations and new facts can help bring excitement to this general election, at the same time reducing the level of stupidity in our country," added the former law minister.

Zaid, however, did not name the five Harapan leaders who should issue the challenge.

Recently, there has been renewed interest in the health of top cabinet ministers after Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad raised doubts about Zahid's wealth.

Following this, the Inland Revenue Board raided firms belonging to all three of Mahathir's sons.

Mahathir said this was no mere coincidence and dared the IRB to go after Najib, Zahid, Hishammuddin and their immediate families.
