The fracas at the Nothing to Hide 2.0 forum, in which chairs and slippers were thrown in Dr Mahathir Mohamad's direction, has been condemned by various ministers.

However, Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri Abdul Aziz was not as sympathetic.

"He asked for it," said the Umno supreme council member when asked if the 92-year-old politician had deserved to be treated in such a manner.

"He wants to be a street fighter, you want to behave like a gangster, that's what you get. You don't want to behave like a statesman, that's what you get," he told reporters in Shah Alam this afternoon.

Nazri was also not surprised that the opposition is pointing the finger at Umno with regard to the violence which erupted at Sunday's forum.

"Yes, everything is (has to do with) Umno.

“Tomorrow, if somebody passes away, it is also (because of) Umno. Why would we waste time on a stupid show like that?" he said.

In exasperation, he said police banned his planned debate with Mahathir but allowed a "stupid forum like this". 

"It was strange that when I wanted to debate with Mahathir, they did not allow, they allow a stupid thing like this," he said. 

According to him, Mahathir has yet to answer about the fund he had collected in the five general elections he led BN through. 

"I want to ask him again, I want to know how much he had collected, from whom, how much he spent, how much balance he had and where is the balance?" he said. 

"Prime Minister Najib Razak was blamed for his personal bank account. But when he opened (the account), I knew where the money came from, I know how much he spent and I knew what is the balance.

"I knew from whom he collected (the fund) and where the money went after that," he said. 

"If Najib had collected RM2.6 billion, can you imagine how much he (Mahathir) had collected?" he asked.
