Gov't awards RM1.6m in prize money and project funds to 'best villages'

The government awarded project funding and prize money worth a total of RM1.6 million to village committees who participated in the best village contest.

The biggest prize at the Anugerah Desa Perdana 2017 (Prime Village Award) - won by Kampung Baru Kemasik, Terengganu - was RM100,000 in prize money and RM600,000 in project funding.

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak presented the prizes to the winners today at the prize giving ceremony in Putra World Trade Centre.
