With Umno living in PAS house, MCA should not throw stones

YOURSAY | ‘It wouldn't surprise if MCA seats are further reduced come GE14.’

Ti: Does Kit Siang expect to fool the Chinese twice?

Clever Voter: MCA central committee member Ti Lian Ker has to be reminded that switching political alliance is normal and not illegal.

The shift of PAS from the middle ground has to do with a change of their leadership and a deliberate tactical move to influence the ruling Umno.

DAP has always been faulted for its inability to deliver when in the first place, resources and power are centralised in hands of a few Umno warlords. Blame instead should be on the failure of MCA successive regimes to deliver.

DAP leader Lim Kit Siang for his years in politics could not even come close to joining the list of wealthy politicians, unlike those in MCA.

At the very least, he has the courage to stand up and be counted, unlike MCA leaders who chose to spend time drooling over their bank balances.

I wouldn't be surprised if MCA seats are further reduced come GE14 despite its renewed sense of confidence.

Res Ipsa: Ti, in case you have amnesia or selective amnesia, you need not be reminded that insofar as the majority of the Chinese community is concerned, MCA has become irrelevant.

In fact, even Umno has considered or branded you as irrelevant. GE14 will therefore ensure that the final rites be performed for MCA.

So perhaps it's best for you to keep your fingers crossed and pray that at the very least, you do not lose your election deposits.

Mushiro: TI said that PAS has spurned DAP and is actively pursuing an Islamic state agenda, and PAS is doing this with the support of Umno, MCA, Gerakan and MIC.

This should be a credit to DAP.

Wira: Ti, please comment on Umno’s support for RUU355 and the support your coalition partner gave in the Kelantan legislative assembly to implement hudud in that state.

At least, DAP is clear on its principles. They call a spade a spade. On the contrary, MCA can't even speak up without drawing the wrath of Umno. After which, they would just pretend as if nothing had happened.

Hplooi: Will the Chinese be fooled by the Umno fascists, when it is proven and documented that:

1. Umno has empowered, and is empowering, the Islamic fringe.

2. Umno is responsible for the political thuggery; remember cow-head incident, cross-on-the-church, Perkasa-blaming the non-Muslims for Quran burning (in Pakistan, a lynch mob would have assembled at such rumour - but Malaysia is reaching that situation soon), black-ops such as draping a banner (ostensibly by recalcitrant Christians) proclaiming "Allah" (when it was clear that no Christians will put up such message); or Umno Youth threatening to burn down the Kuala Lumpur-Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall?

3. Now Umno represents allegedly the biggest thief in history and they will blame the non-Malays again for their failures.

SusahKes: I've heard of people burying their head in the sand, being oblivious to what's happening around them, but Ti and MCA appear to be redefining that phrase.

Let's try to jog Ti's memory. Remember these flops, because all of them made the same loud noise that he is making now - Ong Ka Ting, Koh Tsu Koon, Teng Chang Yeow, Teng Hock Nan, Chua Soi Lek, Kong Cho Ha, Donald Lim, Chew Mei Fun?

I could go on. I haven't even listed the brothers from MIC, or the guys from PPP.

One thing you got to give it to Kit Siang - he had suffered defeat in the past. But he never withered away because that's what a true fighter does.

All the names I mentioned above faded away. Which tells you just how much of a fight they had in them, which in turn tells you just how much they aspired to lead the Chinese.

Relax Ti, I foresee to add your name to that list soon.

Spinnot: DAP's "Chinese dilemma" is whether to openly go along with Bersatu's fear mongering in the GE14 campaign, or use the clandestine approach like the opposition DAP/Gerakan/PPP's secret pact with PMIP (PAS) in the 1969 general election.

HaveAGreatDay: Yes, the Malaysians of Chinese descent do regret supporting PAS in 2013 but they know who is leading those religious extremists in the "Talibanisation" of our country.

It is your political master – Umno.

Middle Path: If not for DAP and opposition parties persistently unwrapping 1MDB, we would never know such scam to allegedly cheat and steal?

MCA, despite being in the midst of it, you dare not say anything. Why should we support you?

The Analyser: I have no admiration for MCA, but even you must admit that they have been honest. They honestly admitted that they have aligned with Umno to serve their own selfish goals.

Meanwhile, DAP has had the same motivations but have masked the truth behind a facade of being democratic and being righteous.

If you think all the Chinese are behind the DAP, then it’s time you pulled your head out of the sand.

Cogito Ergo Sum: But Ti, your bosses are now very cosy with PAS. And it appears there seems to be an electoral pact in the works between your coalition and PAS.

What are you trying to pull? PAS’ demise began with the passing of Tok Guru Nik Aziz Nik Mat. The party made a 180-degree turn after that. And that is the PAS 2.0 that you and your bosses are embracing.

Ikan Merah: Ti, you talked big. Do you dare to face off any one of DAP leaders to debate on who cheated who and also on the 1MDB scandal? If you think MCA is a great party, there is no reason for you decline such a debate.

Rupert16: Ti, I have no doubt that right-minded people will trust Kit Siang more than a lap dog of an allegedly corrupt and incompetent leader.
