Najib: International reserves now at US$100.4b

Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) international reserves, currently at US$100.4 billion (US$1 = RM4.28), reflects the central bank’s management capabilities, said Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

“Congratulations on the good management in line with international standards,” the premier said in his latest tweet.

On Aug 22, BNM announced that the international reserves stood at US$100.4 billion as of Aug 15, compared with US$99.4 billion recorded on July 31.

The amount is sufficient to finance 7.9 months of retained imports and 1.1 times short-term external debt.
