MACC: We will probe DEIG if there is new info
The MACC will open an investigation paper on Darul Ehsan Investment (DEIG) if there are new issues or information, its chief commissioner, Dzuklifli Ahmad said today.
“I have to refer to my officers first on the report (submitted by Petaling Jaya Utara Umno Youth leader Mohd Fakhzan Md Noor) whether the issue is the same as the one made by MACC before and to see if there is new information or issue.
“Just like in the case of Felda, we did not investigate before because there was no strong basis (to do so), but after looking at new information (obtained), we opened the investigation paper,” he told reporters at the MACC “Ziarah Kasih” programme at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Triang Hilir, Simpang Durian in Jelebu...
“Just like in the case of Felda, we did not investigate before because there was no strong basis (to do so), but after looking at new information (obtained), we opened the investigation paper,” he told reporters at the MACC “Ziarah Kasih” programme at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Triang Hilir, Simpang Durian in Jelebu.
He said this in response to a report lodged by Mohd Fakhzan yesterday for MACC to investigate DEIG for operating earlier than it was supposed to.
The report was lodged following a statement by Selangor Menteri Besar, Mohamed Azmin Ali, who was reported as saying that DEIG did not begin operation until 2016.
However, the media reported that DEIG, through its subsidiary, DEIG Land, began making requests for information (RFI) for land development works in Shah Alam, Gombak, and Bukit Beruntung in June 2015.
