Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who for 22 years as prime minister had demonised DAP, today set foot at the party's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

He was there along with other top Pakatan Harapan leaders for the coalition's weekly presidential council meeting.

From photographs released by DAP organs The Rocket and RocketKini, Mahathir is seen in a meeting room with a large rocket – the DAP logo – as the backdrop.

Mahathir, who is Harapan and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) chairperson, was flanked by PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

Wan Azizah is also Harapan president, while Lim is one of the coalition's three deputy presidents.

Following the unveiling of Harapan's official lineup in July, the coalition's presidential council meeting have met weekly.

The weekly meetings are hosted at the headquarters of PKR, Bersatu, Amanah or DAP on a rotational basis.

However, this is the first time that the Harapan presidential council meeting has taken place at the DAP headquarters since Mahathir became its chairperson.

Mahathir, who is now allied with the opposition to take down Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, had said his demonisation of DAP in the past was just "politics."

He said that demonising political opponents was normal, and that the opposition had in the past also called him "mahafiraun" (great pharoah) and "mahazalim" (most cruel).

Mahathir has vowed to bring down the sitting prime minister, accusing him of corruption.

Najib, however, has denied any wrongdoing or taking public funds for personal gain.
