Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos has struck again.

This time, he used a sledgehammer to smash boxes of beer bottles outside the Selangor State Secretariat (SUK) building in Shah Alam this morning.

"If you want to drink, let (Selangor Menteri Besar) Azmin Ali and the gang, the executive councillors, drink and get drunk in their offices.

"But don't let the Selangor people become drunk at beer parties," Jamal said as he smashed the boxes.

"Is this MB (menteri besar) inviting the Selangor people to get drunk? (These festivals) should be cancelled," he added.

Along with 20 supporters, Jamal had initially wanted to deliver the boxes to the menteri besar's office, but was stopped by security at the gate, reported the New Straits Times.

After smashing up all the beer, he walked off to his luxury MPV, but was chased by SUK enforcement chief Misnun Ramli.

"It is highly inappropriate to leave just like that. The mess is in the middle of the road and we have a lot of visitors coming in and out.

"This is not the right way, even if he wants to protest. There are a lot of glass shards on the road, and even his supporters ignored me when I asked them to clear it. We will lodge a police report over this," he was reported as saying.

Jamal and his gang, however, left the scene without clearing the mess. 

The organisation of beer festivals has hit roadblocks by the police in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor while such parties in Johor, Penang and Sarawak are expected to proceed without a hiccup.
