Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak may have accused the opposition of wanting to lay off civil servants but PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli said it was political appointees that are under the spotlight.

Citing the civil servant positions list under the budget, Rafizi said there were 200 civil servants serving Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife alone.

He said this comprises 29 political appointees and private secretaries for the prime minister on top of 112 support staff such as drivers and clerks.

Furthermore, he said Najib gets additional 26 staff members to serve his needs in his capacity as finance minister while his wife, Rosmah Mansor, also gets six staff members...
