Putrajaya's special affairs department (Jasa) has criticised Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali for having misplaced priorities, following the demolition of several houses near the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport.

"Azmin doesn't ask (his officers) to tear down massage parlours, gambling dens and vice dens in Selangor. 

"In fact, when the 'nasi lemak anak dara' (the virgin's nasi lemak) couldn't get a trading license, Azmin helped to negotiate," said Jasa in a statement today. 

The houses were demolished yesterday because their occupants were not the legal landowners. Following this, Azmin said two affected families will be offered public low-cost (PPR) accommodation in Kota Damansara.

The affected occupants were former Subang airport mosque committee members. 

Jasa also accused Azmin's administration of pandering to DAP's wishes to have "alcohol festivals" instead of administrating the state properly. 

"The 'alcohol festivals' were sought by DAP leaders...Azmin couldn't do anything about it...But housing quarters can be demolished by Azmin... 

"This is cruel. Is having a home a bigger sin than 'alcohol festivals'?" asked Jasa.

Meanwhile, Rizal Mansor, the special aide to the prime minister's wife, said that although it was the right of the Selangor government to demolish the buildings, the alternative accommodations should have been offered prior, not after.

"Can't they talk things out first? There were not a lot of people involved. Just two families. There were no discussions. The demolition led to a scuffle and the riot police had to act.

"The Najib administration is no longer an era with people are walloped by the riot police, unlike someone else's time," he said in a statement today.
