PM offers S'gor gov't help to fight dengue menace

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has offered help to the Selangor government in managing waste disposal and drainage to reduce dengue cases in the state which is the worst affected by the menace as compared to other states.

He said Selangor recorded about 40,000 dengue case each year or some 100 cases daily, which was a record one could not be proud of.

Najib said he was not surprised by the situation because it can happen if there were insufficient cleaning efforts done by the state government which is responsible for the matter.

“We can help if they are not up to the task. How? Change the government? That will have to wait until the 14th general election...today we help by doing cleaning work here and other areas,” he said.

The prime minister said this when launching the national-level National Blue Ocean Strategy My Beautiful Neighborhood (NBOS MyBN) here today. The NBOS MyBN was also simultaneously launched at 98 locations nationwide.
