Attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali said he is still waiting for an apology from blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin over an article that had allegedly defamed him.
At the same time, he also repeated his threat to sue Raja Petra who wrote an unflattering article titled: "Strong Rumours Surrounding The AG: Part 1" published that this month.
"You can quote me again. If there is no apology forthcoming, I will definitely sue him till kingdom come.
"How can he smear my name? I don't even know him. It's my reputation you know?," Apandi told a press conference at the Attorney-General's Chambers in Putrajaya today.
"It doesn't matter. I can sue him here or there," he added, alluding to a possible case in the United Kingdom where Raja Petra is currently residing.
Asked how long he would wait before proceeding to file a suit, Apandi, however, said, "I don't know... But I have sent messages and signals to him to apologise".
While cautioning that Raja Petra will not have much time, he later clarified that he was not in direct communications with the blogger and instead relied on media reports to relay his message.
Apandi had previously denied the allegations made by Raja Petra in the article published on Malaysia Today, including claims that he was allegedly involved in corruption.
He also denied getting his job as the country's top prosecutor through inappropriate means.
Before becoming attorney-general, Apandi served as a Federal Court judge.
He was a deputy public prosecutor before he was taken into judicial service.
