Flash floods reaching almost one metre hit certain areas of Klang following heavy rain early today.

Selangor Fire and Rescue operations assistant director Mohd Sani Harul said water began rising at Bandar Bukit Raja and Taman Sungai Rasau around 4.30am.

"There are no reports of casualties or residents having to move to evacuation centres,” he told Bernama when contacted.

Meanwhile, Klang Utara district police chief ACP Mazelan Paijan said certain roads were also inundated and had to be closed.

The roads included the stretch from the Sungai Rasau toll plaza to the traffic light junction towards Shapadu Highway, Jalan Sungai Rasau, Kilometre 3.5 Shapadu Highway towards Shah Alam, Jalan Rajawali, Klang and Persiaran Sultan Ibrahim towards Shapadu Highway toll plaza.

"The roads that are flooded but still accessible are Jalan Meru, Klang, near Columbia Asia Hospital.

"Routes that are congested are along Shapadu Highway toll plaza up to the junction towards Shah Alam and Federal Highway, Persiaran Sultan Ibrahim, and Jalan Meru," Mazelan said.
