The High Court in Kuala Lumpur will decide on Tuesday afternoon on whether Sungai Besar Umno division leader Jamal Md Yunos can subpoena IGP Mohd Fuzi Harun to testify as his witness in the defamation suit filed by Bersih 2.0 chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah.
Justice Mohd Zaki Abdul Wahab fixed the date after hearing submissions in his chambers today.
Senior federal counsel Ahmad Teriruddin Mohd Salleh and Habsah Harun opposed Jamal's application to subpoena the inspector-general of police.
This follows Maria's arrest by the police last year under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma), when Fuzi (photo) was the Special Branch director.

However, Teriruddin told reporters after the proceedings, outside court, that the Special Branch had nothing to do with the arrest as it was done by another division within the police force.
Jamal's lawyers V Mugunthan and Mohd Nasser Yusof said Fuzi, as the former Special Branch chief, should know why Maria was detained under Sosma
It was reported on Oct 9 that Jamal sought to subpoena Fuzi, along with former IGP Khalid Abu Bakar, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and three other witnesses to testify as his defence witnesses.
Nasser had told reporters last month that the reason they decided to call Mahathir was because he was the prime minister when Maria's late husband, Yunus Ali, was one of those held under the Internal Security Act.
Maria filed the defamation suit following Jamal's claim that Bersih, which she is leading, was infiltrated by the so-called Islamic State.
Jamal made the allegation twice last year, on Sept 28 and Oct 4.
