Gagasan Sejahtera, an alternative coalition to BN and Pakatan Harapan, announced today that it will be forming its own youth wing.

PAS Youth chief Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi made the announcement at a joint press conference with Parti Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia (Ikatan).

"PAS and Ikatan met for the first time (on the matter) and we agreed to form Gagasan Sejahtera Youth.

"We, the youth wings (of PAS and Ikatan), also agreed to form a committee for Gagasan Sejahtera Youth," he told a press conference at PAS headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.

Also present at the press conference was Ikatan Youth chief Shahir Adnan.

Gagasan Sejahtera was formed in August 2016 with the intention of emphasising "matured politics".

Khalil also announced that Gagasan Sejahtera Youth will be organising a convention on Feb 24 next year.

He said the convention will gather youths from Gagasan Sejahtera, NGOs and other groups involved in Malay and Muslim issues in the country.
