Even before the dust could settle on his nude twist to the headscarf ban, Bung Moktar Radin has decided to highlight another issue related to the human anatomy, this time his own.

Reiterating an issue which he had raised in the Dewan Rakyat numerous times before, the Kinabatangan MP said he is disappointed with the security checks carried out at Malaysian airports.

He complained that during these checks, his private part is subject to being “raba-raba” (felt up).

"I am really disappointed about the pat down, sometimes, our 'benda sulit' (private part) is touched.

“I say (to the security personnel), 'Don't pat down (there), not so hard,'" he said, urging the government to stop this practice.

Bung pointed out that the patdown process is carried out because the alarm beeps when passengers pass through the screener, which he claimed is too sensitive.

The screener, he said, is meant to detect dangerous and sharp objects.

"But, it is so sensitive that it beeps even because of a pant's zipper.

“This would not happen in Singapore, Europe and even in developing countries where their screeners are not so sensitive,” he added.

Bung said he spoke with one of the security officers and was informed that a proposal has been submitted to the government to replace the screeners.

"The officer said we were using the cheapest screeners in the world when our airport cost billions," he added.

Yesterday, Bung courted flak for his sexist remarks when he weighed into the headscarf issue during the Budget 2018 debate.

He argued that a "beautiful woman" would still look attractive even if she wore a headscarf.

"Kalaupun dia tidak cantik, telanjang pun, siapa tak mahu? (Even if she is not pretty, even if she is nude, who wouldn't want (her)?” he added.

The BN lawmaker urged the government to take stern action against hotels which barred its female Muslim employees from wearing headscarves at the front desk.

His remarks prompted DAP's Kulai MP Teo Nie Ching to call on Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to drop Bung as a candidate for the next general election if he is serious about empowering women.
