The opposition is set to release the names of the lawmakers that voted against the Budget 2018 at the committee stage on Monday to counter the "mistake" in the official Parliament figure.

They claim that 52 lawmakers bloc voted against the budget, one more than the recorded total of 51.

BN won by the razor-thin margin of one vote after MPs had scrambled back into the House, amid cries of foul play from the opposition. 

"We will do this by noon tomorrow," said PKR's Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul (photo) when met at a luncheon held at Parliament. Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo subsequently confirmed Johari's statement.

Meanwhile, Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker Ronald Kiandee, who chaired the sitting during the controversial bloc voting, asked the opposition to show proof of the extra MP.

"How can you ask me? Ask them, they have to explain. They created the doubt, so you have to ask them," he said.

Commenting further, he said he wasn't the one who counted the vote.

G Manivannan (PKR-Kapar) had mooted a bloc voting on Monday to protest the price and petrol hikes.

The opposition was unhappy that Ronald allowed four BN lawmakers to participate in the bloc voting after the bloc leaders had signed the ballot paper.

Ronald, however, argued that the Standing Order of the House does not state any time frame after the two-minute bell and the time frame that barred latecomers from voting.
