Former Selangor menteri besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim expressed his support for Umno and PAS for the coming general election because both parties defend Malay and Islam as enshrined in the Federal Constitution, said Umno minister Noh Omar.

He said this after PAS vice-president Iskandar Abdul Samad Khalid's rubbished the notion of Khalid double-dating Umno and PAS after his appearance at Selangor Umno convention.

Khalid and his three predecessors decided to unite as they have seen for themselves how Menteri Besar Azmin Ali had failed to develop the state in an efficient and transparent manner, added Noh.
