The number of flood victims in Kelantan dropped from 582 at 4pm to 551 as at 8pm today.

All victims are being housed at four relief centres in two districts, namely Pasir Mas and Tumpat.

According to the Social Welfare Department’s Infobanjir application, Pasir Mas recorded the highest number of victims with 516 from 231 families who are at three relief centres, while Tumpat has 35 victims from nine families in one centre.

Kelantan’s eBanjir portal reported that the water-level of Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang dropped to the warning level of 8.98m at 8pm today, compared to 9.07m at 4pm yesterday. The danger-level is nine metres.

Meanwhile, the last two flood relief centres still in operation in Terengganu closed at 2pm today.

Terengganu Civil Defence Department director Che Adam A Rahman said all evacuees at the FRCs in Kuala Nerus and Marang, numbering 172 people, were allowed to return to their homes from noon.

"However, the state flood operations room is still operating as there is a possibility floods might recur,” he told Bernama.

It was the same in Perlis, with the last the last 20 flood victims sheltered at Maktab Rendah Sains Mara, Beseri, allowed to return to their homes by 10.30am.
