Dr M for PM just a ploy to hide DAP dominance, says Annuar

Pakatan Harapan’s proposed appointment of Dr Mahathir Mohamad as prime minister and Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as his deputy is a ploy to mislead the people, according to UMNO information chief Annuar Musa.

Annuar (photo) said this political strategy was DAP’s agenda to hide the party, which would actually be the real power behind the opposition coalition.

“You can cheat some people some time, but you cannot cheat all the people all the time.

“As long as DAP is the stronger party than Bersatu, Amanah and PKR, DAP will not (just) rule but it will dominate,” he told reporters after meeting with representatives of Umno Overseas Club in conjunction with the Umno General Assembly 2017 in Kuala Lumpur today.

He was asked to comment on Pakatan Harapan’s reported plan to appoint the former prime minister and the PKR president as the country’s top two leaders, made at the opposition’s retreat programme in Putrajaya, recently.

Annuar said DAP’s greatest fear now was over the Malays believing that the party would be the one leading Pakatan Harapan, hence they would not support the opposition in the upcoming general election.
