Three days' remand for blogger Milosuam

Blogger Yusuf Al-Siddique Suratman, better known as Milosuam, was today served with a three-day remand order for the investigation into a leaked MACC witness statement.

Yusuf's lawyer, Farhanna Roslan, said that he would be detained at the Dang Wangi district police station, where he was taken to after being arrested at his home in Malacca yesterday.

"The investigating officer had requested for a four-day remand order. But the magistrate only granted three days.

"The suspect (Yusuf) is being investigated under Section 203A of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act," Farhanna told reporters outside the Dang Wangi police station this morning.

Section 233 of the CMA criminalises the use of "network facilities" or "services" to transmit communication that is deemed offensive or causing annoyance, while Section 203A of the Penal Code relates to "disclosure of information...
