Mara chairperson Awang Adek Hussin has denied that former Mara chairperson Annuar Musa would return to Syarikat Pelaburan Mara Berhad (PMB).

“It’s only a rumour,” he told a press conference at the launch of the Mara Whistleblower Protection Policy and the Corruption Free Pledge in Kuala Lumpur today.

On Jan 31, Mara suspended Annuar to enable the internal audit to investigate the PMB and Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) over sponsorship for the Kelantan football team.

On Feb 3, Annuar provided information to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in relation to allegations of misappropriation and abuse of power as chairperson of Mara.

Meanwhile, MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Azam Baki said the MACC had completed the investigation on the PMB and UniKL sponsorship for the Kelantan football team.

“The investigation paper has been completed and submitted to the deputy public prosecutor. There has been no decision yet,” he added.
