Bersatu Youth today lodged a report to counter the one made by Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos against former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife Dr Siti Hasmah Ali.

The wing's exco member (education) Ashraf Mustaqim Badrul Munir, in a statement given to reporters following the report lodged at the Shah Alam police headquarters, said Jamal had with malicious intent, lodged the complaint yesterday against the duo for returning their awards to the Selangor palace.

"Their action does not go against any provision of the law. Jamal (in lodging the report), had meant to pit the palace against a national leader, and to give an inaccurate picture of the situation stemming from a misunderstanding between two leaders.

"Jamal's irresponsible action paves the way to unnecessary squabbles between the people, and threatens the country's harmony, especially Selangor, which is prospering under the rule of the Selangor sultan," he said...
