TV personality Azwan Ali is expected to have his statement recorded by the MACC tomorrow over his allegations that one of his family members was involved in graft.

Malaysiakini has learned that the scheduled meet will take place at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya at 10am tomorrow.

Azwan is a staunch critic of Selangor menteri besar Azmin Ali. The PKR deputy president is Azwan's older brother.

Azwan had told reporters on the sidelines of the Umno general assembly earlier this month that he had "one million" ideas on how Umno can retake Selangor.

Among other issues, he also claimed that he would destroy Azmin (photo) by exposing his "secrets".

Azwan then sought a meeting with Razali Ibrahim, a deputy minister in the prime minister's department, who was in charge of overseeing  MACC.

According to Malaysia Gazette, the meeting took place yesterday and lasted two hours.

Razali was quoted as a saying that he refused to look at the documents furnished by Azwan because it should be handled by the MACC.

According to Utusan Malaysia, MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Azam Baki confirmed that they would be calling in Azwan at an unspecified time and date.

Azam said the MACC wanted to hear about the information which Azwan claimed to have.

When contacted, Azwan refused to confirm if he had been summoned by the MACC.

"I apologise. If it really happens, I believe it is going to be real shit for the nation," said Azwan.

He also claimed that he has received appeals from Azmin to keep his mouth shut.

"My mission to oppose Azmin will never cease. He can cajole me, he can say nice things, but Azwan will not entertain it," said the celebrity, who has a habit of referring to himself in the third person.
