Seven people, including three police officers, were killed yesterday when a speeding car crashed into a roadblock in Penang, police officials said.

The pre-dawn accident happened on a busy expressway when the car travelling toward Penang Bridge went out of control on the rain-soaked road, hit the police roadblock on the motorcycle lane and overturned.
State police chief Christopher Wan Soo Kee said three people in the car died, and three police and a motorcyclist were killed, the Bernama news agency reported. The front-seat passenger escaped with slight injuries.
