The number of flood victims in Terengganu rose to 343 people from 114 families as at 8pm tonight compared to 233 (79 families) at noon.

According to the InfoBanjir portal, three more relief centres were opened in Kemaman, making a total of five shelters in operation now.

In Dungun, the relief centre at Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Shukor recorded an increase to 175 people (61 families) compared to 155 people (47 families) earlier while at Dewan Orang Ramai Pasir Raja, the number of victims were unchanged at 77 people (31 families).

Kemaman, which was the latest district to be hit by floods today, saw 91 people (22 families) housed at three relief centres, namely Dewan Orang Ramai Teladas (50 people from 13 families), Surau Haji Othman in Kampung Seberang Tayor Hulu (18 people from five families) and Surau Kampung Ban Ho in Air Putih (23 people from four families).  

Meanwhile, Terengganu Education director, Shafruddin Ali Hussin said SK Pasir Raja in Dungun involving 63 pupils and 17 teachers would be the only school to be closed tomorrow.

“Two schools which were closed today namely SK Kampung Shukor, Dungun and SK Padang Kubu in Kemaman will reopen as usual tomorrow," he told Bernama.
