Idris: The more Guan Eng attacks PAS the better

PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad has welcomed DAP's attacks against his party, claiming that this will only expose the true colours of DAP.

"The more Lim (Guan Eng) attacks PAS and Islam's struggle the better. Let the people see who Lim and the DAP truly are," he said.

Idris's response comes in wake of the DAP secretary-general's statement yesterday saying that Umno's recent praise of PAS was due to the latter having lost its way.

"We are lost in Lim's eyes as DAP cannot lead PAS by the nose," added Idris.

"It doesn't matter for PAS to be accused of being lost for defending the principle of its struggle," he said.

Idris said the comment from Lim (photo) showed DAP's arrogance, despite only helming a solitary state, Penang.

Lim, who is also the Penang chief minister, was commenting on Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar's decision to quit PAS.

In an apparent reference to PAS, the Penang chief minister said Mahfuz wanted an opposition that would rid the country of scandals instead of secretly working with the ruling party.

Idris said Lim's criticism was unfair, as PAS had been consistent in voicing out on national scandals such as 1MDB and Felda.

He added that PAS had commented on these issues based on there being evidence of wrongdoing.
