Generate 'justice tsunami' to drown opposition, MCA boss tells Chinese voters

MCA president Liow Tiong Lai has called on Chinese voters to generate a “justice tsunami” to wipe out the opposition's “hypocrisy and ugly political drama” in the coming general election.

He also urged the voters to teach DAP's father and son pair of Lim Kit Siang and Guan Eng “a lesson or two”.

He was responding to Pakatan Harapan naming Dr Mahathir Mohamad as its prime minister candidate and the seat allocation between the component parties.

According to Liow, the alliance between DAP and Mahathir is a blatant betrayal of the Chinese community's trust in DAP during the last two general elections.

“DAP should not take the Chinese for granted by continuing to hijack public opinion and pretending to fight for democracy but then acts the opposite way,” he said in a media statement this afternoon.

“The Lims are obviously trying to convince the Chinese they represent public opinion and white can become black or black can become white, as they please.

“If DAP can compromise on our nation's most important and essential secular system, rebrand PAS' theocratic state as a welfare state and cooperate with the 'Malay-first' Bersatu, then there is nothing else that cannot be compromised by them,” he added.

From the allocation of Harapan's electoral seats, Liow said it is clear that the Mahathir-led Bersatu had overtaken the rest to lead the coalition while DAP, at third place, was only a co-star.

He added with Bersatu - as the last entrant into Harapan - obtaining the highest number of seats showed that DAP, with 35 seats, was being sidelined without any power.

Liow also claimed that Kit Siang and Guan Eng have “changed tremendously” over the last 10 years.

“They have forgotten that the person whom they called a tyrant and accused of inflicting permanent damage to the Malaysian democratic system, Mahathir, has now become their saviour,” he said.

Based on their statements during the Harapan convention, Liow said it was clear that the coalition only wanted to topple Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and this had nothing to do with democracy and justice.

The MCA president also accused the opposition of attempting to concentrate the nation's executive power into the hands of three families – Mahathir and his son Mukhriz, Kit Siang and Guan Eng as well Anwar Ibrahim, his wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and their daughter Nurul Izzah.

Liow claimed that both Mahathir and Anwar, with their “Malay first” mentality”, were obstructive towards Chinese education and business opportunities when in power.

“Today, Mahathir says his previous claim that 'Anwar is morally unfit to become prime minister' has become history.

“All these point to a single fact that Guan Eng, Anwar and Mahathir share one thing in common, that their intended ends are always used to justify their means.

“But in politics, many wrongs can only bring more harm and never make a right. The reformasi saga has been going on for 20 years now, and in the name of people has also been misused for just as long,” he said.
