Malaysian actor and director Farid Kamil Zahari was remanded for four days today to assist police in their investigation into four cases related to disorderly conduct, voluntarily causing hurt, obstruction of a public servant in the performance of duty, and drug use.

The remand order issued by magistrate Zaki Asyraf Zubir on the 37-year-old celebrity was to facilitate investigations under Section 90 of the Police Act, Section 323 of the Penal Code, Section 353 of the Penal Code and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Wearing lockup attire, Farid was escorted by police into the court chambers at 10.35 am and emerged at 10.50 am.

Media and photographers crowded the court compound as early as 8 am to cover the case.
