MCA man grateful to Patriot chief for coming to non-Malays' defence

An MCA leader has lauded the statement of an NGO representing army veterans for defending the history of non-Malay participation in the nation's security forces.

“We are lucky to have veterans like Persatuan Patriot Kebangsaan (Patriot) who were there to know and tell the truth, and also correctly point out that the fight against communism involved all the races, not just Malays. Similarly, Communism then was an ideology pursued by all races, not just non-Malays.

“Malaysia is multi-ethnic. Therefore, for any individual to single out any ethnic group as opposed to the rest on this issue, is an irresponsible act and betrayal against Malayan history,” MCA publicity spokesperson and religious harmony bureau chairperson Ti Lian Ker said in a statement today...
