The Kelantan government has confirmed that no allocation will be given to representatives from the state opposition who aim to topple the state administration.

State PAS secretary Che Abdullah Mat Nawi said there is a difference between the situation in Kelantan and Selangor, as PAS representatives do not attack the PKR-led Selangor administration.

"Comparing Kelantan and Selangor is unfair, as PAS reps in Selangor do not attack the state government.

"In Kelantan, we only take action (to cut funding) to those conspiring to topple the state government," he was quoted telling a press conference yesterday.

Che Abdullah's comments follow complaints by Selangor PAS representatives about the alleged freeze of their allocations, and that they would meet with state ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah to voice out the matter.

This prompted Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali (photo) to advise those involved to see him personally or make inquiries at their district offices, instead of seeking royal intervention in a political issue.

Yesterday, Amanah vice-president Husam Musa retorted sarcastically that it would be only fair for the Kelantan state government to allow him to access for his state constituency of Salor, given PAS representatives were fighting for their allocations in Selangor.

Husam was a former PAS vice-president, but was sacked before joining Amanah.

Although PAS does not have any political ties with PKR, DAP, and Amanah, which make up the Selangor state government, three of the Islamist party's representatives have stayed put in the state administration.

Meanwhile, a check by Malaysiakini with the sole PKR assemblyperson in Kelantan, Roslan Puteh, showed that he is still receiving his allocation.

"Yes, I just received my allocation, in the form of an annual grant," the Guchil representative said when contacted.

It is, however, not the same with Husam and other BN representatives, whose funding has been totally cut off by the Kelantan state government.
