A woman who had been previously remanded to assist with investigations into a fraud case involving actor Den Wahab and film director Aziz M Osman was charged at the Magistrate's Court here with misappropriating funds worth RM27,000 meant for holiday packages.

Nor Farah Farhan Abdul Fattah, 36, however, pleaded not guilty after the two counts were read out before Magistrate Nor Ariffin Hisham.

For the first charge, Nor Farah allegedly misappropriated RM11,680 belonging to Aziz M Osman's wife, Puteri Salbainun Lokman, 29, meant for the purchase of a holiday package to South Korea from Dec 23 to 27, 2017, in which the accused failed to provide the package after the victim had made payment.

The mother of three was also alleged to have misappropriated RM15,500 belonging to Sarida Shaari, 56, meant for a holiday package to Morocco and Spain, from Oct 10 to 21, 2017, in which the accused failed to provide the said package after payment was made at CIMB Kelana Jaya on Sept 19, 2017.

She was accused of committing the offence at an address at Casabella, Off Jalan Teknologi 3/11, Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya, between Dec 5 and Dec 14, 2017.

The accused, who appeared calm during the proceedings, was charged under Section 403 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum jail term of five years, whipping and fine, upon conviction.

Earlier, deputy public prosecutor Fazeedah Faik proposed a bail of RM7,000 for each charge. The court allowed the accused bail at RM10,000 for both charges with a surety.

The accused was also told to surrender her passport to the court.
