Ajinomoto Malaysia Bhd has proposed to acquire a 188.604ha plot of land at the Techpark@Enstek, Bandar Baru Enstek, Negeri Sembilan, from Lembaga Tabung Haji and THP Enstek Development Sdn Bhd for RM86.07 million.

In filing to Bursa Malaysia today, Ajinomoto said the acquisition was in line with its long-term plans of growing its operations and expanding manufacturing facilities to keep up with growing demand for its products.

“We intend to develop and construct new manufacturing facilities on the land that is expected to strengthen the efficiency and competency of the company in providing quality products to customers.

“At this stage, it is too early to ascertain the total development costs or commencement of operations of these new manufacturing facilities. The development costs are expected to be funded via internally generated funds and bank borrowings if required,” the company said.

Lembaga Tabung Haji had appointed THP Enstek Development Sdn Bhd as attorney for the land sale.
