Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has some friendly advice for Chinese Malaysians having their reunion dinner tonight.

“Happy reunion dinner to all celebrating tonight!

“I hope you are all prepared for good food, good company and most importantly, tough questions from aunties and uncles like “When are you getting married?” he tweeted through his official Twitter account today.

As per tradition, Chinese families will gather for a family reunion dinner tonight before ushering the first day of the Lunar New Year tomorrow.

In his Chinese New Year message yesterday, Najib credited the Chinese community with making “tremendous contributions” to the country culturally and economically, and for playing a “nation-building” role.

"I am committed to ensuring that no Malaysians will be left behind, that the future of our children will be better than ours, and that we will grow stronger and together as one.

"I hope that this Year of the Dog will bring prosperity and good health to you and your families, and may we continue to be proud and committed to Negaraku, a country that we love," he said on his website.
