A senior citizen fell off his motorcycle after an unidentified stranger kicked his vehicle as he was riding along Gurney Drive, Penang.

The incident occurred about 3pm yesterday, when the 60-year-old man was returning home after going to a nearby mosque, Northeast District police chief Anuar Omar said.

While riding along Gurney Drive, another man on a motorcycle overtook the senior citizen and kicked his bike with his right leg, resulting in the latter losing balance and falling off his vehicle, also resulting in his helmet dislodging from his head.

The incident was recorded in a 1.22-minute video clip that was provided by the police.

"The victim is currently warded at the hospital and he is in a stable condition, he sustained some injuries on his body, and is suffering pain on his chest," Anuar said in a statement to the press.

"The victim's family has lodged a report on the incident about 5pm yesterday," he added.

Anuar said the police have taken statements from the victim, who denied that he had a quarrel with anyone before the incident.

Anuar said the real motive of the incident is currently being investigated by the police.

"A witness, a woman, has come forward to give her statement and to hand over the original video clip, which was recorded by her vehicle's camera.

"We will check the suspect's number plate from the video clip," he added.
