The MACC is monitoring the activities of a politician in Kelantan whom it suspects of corruption.

Kelantan MACC chief Moh Samsuddin Yusof, however, declined to reveal any details including which party the politician is from.

"We received a report that a politician was involved in corruption. The MACC is investigating and monitoring," he was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.

Moh Samauddin said the graft-busters had received 201 reports of corruption last year leading to the arrests of eight civil servants and one private citizen.

MACC has been actively cracking down on politicians since its chief Dzulkifli Ahmad took over in 2016.

Among the politicians who have been nabbed by the MACC include former Felda chairperson Isa Samad and former rural and regional development minister Shafie Apdal.
