MCA president Liow Tiong Lai said that DAP leaders such as Anthony Loke and Lim Guan Eng dare not rebuke their “friend” Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri Aziz over his remarks about business tycoon Robert Kuok.

“If (DAP national organising secretary) Loke is a friend of Nazri’s, he should advise Nazri on the Kuok issue, he must convey the feelings of the Chinese community.

“I see Loke or (DAP secretary-general) Lim dare not convey the feelings of the Chinese community to Nazri.

“We all can see that he dares not advise Nazri, but dares to hold his hand,” Liow quipped during his press conference at the MCA headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.

This jibe likely refers to the time Nazri and Lim held hands during the launch of the Rainbow Skywalk in Penang in 2016. The two leaders are known to have a close relationship despite their political differences.

Nazri has also described Loke as his ‘good friend’. Pictures of Nazri bear-hugging Loke also made the rounds on social media in 2016.

MCA and Nazri are embroiled in a feud after the minister’s tirades against Kuok, who was accused by blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin of bankrolling DAP.

Both Kuok and DAP have denied these claims.

Nazri had called the billionaire “pondan” (effeminate) and demanded that the 94-year-old tycoon relinquish his Malaysian citizenship.

MCA leaders had then accused Nazri of doing them and BN a disservice, claiming that the minister’s attack on a respected business magnate would irk the Chinese community and benefit DAP.

Liow also said in the press conference today that MCA is facing a very tough election and their “enemy” DAP is out to destroy them.

“That is the word they use now. They want to ‘exterminate’ MCA to the fullest. That’s the kind of mentality that DAP has,” he said.

DAP does not have political ideals which they stand by, he said, and their only mission now is to destroy MCA.

MCA, on the other hand, has always fought for the rakyat, especially the Chinese community, he said.

“We never have any intention to exterminate anybody,” he said.

The Chinese community has given their votes to DAP for two terms, he said, and DAP has delivered “zero results” to the community.

This is why the Chinese community should no longer believe in DAP, as they have become arrogant once they gained in strength, he said.
