PM: Happy retirement Guan Eng, Harapan manifesto says you should quit

Based on Pakatan Harapan’s manifesto for the 14th general election, Lim Guan Eng can already step down as chief minister of Penang, said Najib Tun Razak.

“I wish Lim Guan Eng happy retirement," the Prime Minister wrote on his blog najibrazak.com today.

Pakatan Harapan’s manifesto unveiled on Thursday among others proposes to limit the tenure of prime minister, chief ministers and menteris besar to just two terms.

"Why only now making this proposal, why not when their head was prime minister for five and a half terms,” added Najib.

Najib, who is also Umno president and BN chairman, described the opposition pact’s manifesto as full of sweet promises but which were, in fact, lethal poison.

"Not only that, their manifesto is also hypocritical, should be called false hopes," he said.

Pakatan Harapan made up of Bersatu, DAP, PKR and Parti Amanah Negara is led by former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Lim Guan is the secretary-general of DAP.

GE14 must be called by August this year.
