Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, despite his age of 92, showed off his driving skills in what appeared to be a Porsche.

A video of him driving in a heavy downpour, uploaded by pro-Mahathir blogger Firdaus Abdullah, came amid BN mocking Mahathir's capabilities at his advanced age.

"The stormy journey to redeem the country's dignity must persevere.

"Do not give up easily in the face of various challenges. The struggle must continue.

"Only we can save Malaysia," said the caption accompanying the video.

Mahathir re-shared the video on his official Twitter account.

Earlier today, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi joked that he would retire before he turned 93.

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, in his speeches, has also refused to address Mahathir by name, often referring him as the "93-year-old man".

Pakatan Harapan had nominated Mahathir, who served as prime minister for 22 years, as its prime ministerial candidate if the opposition coalition captures Putrajaya.

Mahathir, who is Harapan and Bersatu chairperson, will turn 93 this July.

Still 'sharp'

Bersatu, on its official Facebook page yesterday, also posted a video of its president Muhyiddin Yassin rebutting BN's criticism of Mahathir's age.

"He (Najib) knows that when we named Mahathir as prime minister, there was a big chance that he (Najib) would lose.

"That is why he mocked Mahathir as being old and senile. Yes, his age is 92 but his mind remains sharp," said Muhyiddin.

Mahathir was this morning in Ayer Hitam, Johor to introduce Liew Chin Tong as DAP's candidate in Ayer Hitam.

He also had a dialogue with the Chinese community in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan and will be attending Harapan's ceramah in Seremban tonight.
