S’pore warehouse razed, four days after oil storage tank fire

A fire broke out at 11 Kranji Crescent here early today, involving piles of waste materials contained within a warehouse, and has been put out after more than eight hours.

This is the second major industrial-related fire this week, after Monday evening’s blaze involving an oil storage tank on the island of Pulau Busing.

In its latest update, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire at 2.16am.

Firefighters were conducting damping down operations to prevent any potential rekindle of fire from the hot burnt surfaces, it said.

A total of 22 firefighting appliances and 70 emergency responders were deployed to the scene.
