The Selangor Menteri Besar's Office has once again tried to wash its hands off the RM1.18 billion sale of the Ijok land, according to BN strategic communication department deputy director Eric See-To.

He said the state government now describes the deal as a private affair, which has nothing to do with it.

“Two current and one former Pakatan Harapan MP have also parroted the same 'private deal - not state government land' line in their statement saying I had asked "false questions", whatever that means.

“Do you really expect people to forget that for almost a month, various personalities from the Selangor government including the Selangor MB's officer telling us it was a win-win solution, that they have "helped" the settlers end their 20-year wait and even detailed the RM1.18 billion deal.

“Now that seven persons have been remanded and RM87 million in bank accounts have been seized along with the shocking news that at least RM262 million out of the RM1.18 billion was paid to third-party consultants, the Selangor people are now told that the state government had nothing to do with the RM1.18 billion deal,” he added in a statement.

See-To noted that the arrests had come after the MACC said it had carried out a full forensic audit of the RM262 million which went to third-party consultants and companies.

The BN man accused the Selangor government of continuing to refuse to answer questions from the rakyat and settlers, opting for an outright denial instead by claiming it was a private deal.

“Official court documents say the RM1.18 billion sale of 2,200 acres of land had, and I quote, "the full knowledge, support and sanction of the Selangor state government", including how the money is divided.

“The court documents also said these are contained in the Settlement Agreement, the Supplemental Settlement Agreement and the Consent Judgment,” he said.

See-To claimed that if the state government does not possess the courage to answer the questions, then it could perhaps reveal the abovementioned three documents.

“This would allow the rakyat to judge for themselves whether or not if the Selangor government had any involvement in the RM1.18 billion sale? It is a simple request,” he added.
