Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali today pulled a stunt similar to Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad did when he turned up unannounced to snicker at Umno assemblypersons who held a press conference to criticise the state government.

At the lobby of the Selangor state assembly today, Azmin stood amongst journalists covering the press conference and grinned at the Umno assemblypersons for around two minutes.

The Umno assemblypersons, led by Batang Kali representative Mat Nadzari Ahmad Dahlan, were listing out what they claimed were 10 failures by the Pakatan Harapan and PAS-led state government.

Azmin, who was accompanied by a couple of other state assemblypersons later walked away laughing.

Among the "failures" Nadzari said, were the water supply disruptions affecting some one million users in Selangor, according to BNBBC.my.

Furthermore, Nadzari despite Harapan's rhetoric about free education, the Selangor government had yet to implement it at the state level.

He also claimed the Selangor government failed in achieving its target of building 150,000 affordable homes.

Last Thursday, political analyst Kamarul Zaman Yusoff became a subject of ridicule after criticising Mahathir at a Sinar Harian forum in Shah Alam but became meek when the former prime minister made a surprise appearance.

Mahathir had asked Kamarul to say what he had in mind to his face but Kamarul appeared to dial back on his rhetoric and appeared to be uncomfortable as Mahathir stared him down.

Today was the first day of the Selangor state assembly sitting, which will extend until Friday.
