The Kelantan Barisan Nasional stands a great chance of winning the Tumpat parliamentary seat and Kota Lama state seat in the 14th general election, says its chairperson Mustapa Mohamed.
He said as such, the state BN would seek more ways to win the hearts of voters for both seats, which would enable BN to return to its glory of governing Kelantan.
"Previously, we aimed to win eight parliamentary seats. Now, we are adding Tumpat as our target because our liaison body has observed that there are changes there now.
"For state seats, previously we aimed for 30. However, within these two days, we have found that the MCA candidate proposed for the Kota Lama state seat is rather energetic and well-received by the Malay and Chinese communities,” Mustapa told reporters after attending the state assembly at the Kota Darul Naim Complex in Kota Bahru yesterday.
Previously, Kelantan BN aimed to win three parliamentary seats, namely Bachok, Pasir Puteh and Kuala Krai, as well as defend the parliamentary seats of Gua Musang, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Machang and Ketereh.
Mustapa, who is also Kelantan Umno chief, denied allegations that the state Umno held campaigns to prevent Kelantanese voters from outside returning home for GE14.
