GE14 | Electoral watchdog Bersih has urged Malaysians residing overseas to register as postal voters before the deadline, which is the day the Parliament dissolves tomorrow. 

"We call on all Malaysian voters living overseas, who are not able to come home to vote, to register as postal voters now. 

"Your every vote counts and is important to the future of the nation," said Bersih in a statement. 

Election Commission (EC) chairperson Mohd Hashim Abdullah has previously said that postal voting registration will close the day Parliament dissolves. 

Postal voting registration forms (Form 1B) are available on the EC website.

Completed forms must be sent to the EC either by email to upup@spr.gov.my; fax 03-8881 0424/0399/0394/0386/0369; or mailed to the address - Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya Malaysia, Menara SPR, No 2 Jalan P2T, Presint 2, Pusat Pentadbiran Kerajaan Persekutuan, 62100 Putrajaya (Attn: Unit Pengurusan Undi Pos Luar Negara) before tomorrow.

Voters need to fulfil several conditions before they qualify for postal voting, including having previously registered as a voter (under the regular or absent voter category), having been in Malaysia or returning to Malaysia not less than 30 days within five years before the dissolution of Parliament or State Assembly, and having been residing abroad.

Mohd Hashim previously said that those residing in southern Thailand (Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, Songkhla and Satun), Singapore, Brunei and Kalimantan province, Indonesia, however, will not be able to apply for postal voting and must return to Malaysia to cast their votes on polling day.
