PAS sees the provisional dissolution of Bersatu by the Registrar of Societies as proof of BN's "ungentlemanliness."

Party vice-president Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said the party was somewhat aggrieved over the plight faced by Bersatu.

"Frankly, we are aggrieved over what that has occurred. All parties should be given the opportunity (to participate in the polls) in a democratic country like Malaysia.

"The government should not be citing technical reasons to face the opposition," he said when met by the media, after the announcement of the Kelantan state legislative assembly dissolution in Kota Bharu today.

BN, he said, should provide space to all opposition parties to contest by voicing out their respective views.

"Let the people be the judge. We think BN are not being gentlemen in facing Bersatu," he said.

Bersatu, on Thursday, was slapped with a provisional dissolution order under Section 14(5) of the Societies Act.

According to chief registrar Surayati Ibrahim, Bersatu had failed to submit all the information and documents requested through a notice issued under Section 14 (2) of the Societies Act.

However, Surayati declined to detail just what documents Bersatu had failed to submit, despite facing a volley of questions from members of the press during the press conference.

She also denied ROS’ move was politically motivated, and said the decision was made based on “facts and data” it obtained.

Common logo will lead to conflict

On another matter, Amar predicted how internal problems are set to arise over Pakatan Harapans decision to use PKR's logo in the upcoming general election, citing the parties' different ideologies.

"For example DAP – they wouldn't want to use PKR's logo while Bersatu members might find it hard to use the logo.

"It would also be confusing for members and will lead to quarrels among themselves. But I don't want to comment further because that is their internal problem, let them handle it," he said.

The PKR ‘eye’ symbol was chosen as Pakatan Harapan's common logo for GE14 after the coalition failed to get itself registered with the Registrar of Societies.
