A Kelantan PAS leader is confident God will summon his “angels” to help the party in the coming general election.

Speaking at a ceramah yesterday, Kelantan PAS Youth deputy chief Nor Azariza Mohd Alawi cited the Battle of Badr and how God summoned a cavalry comprising warrior angels to aid Muslim troops.

"When God wants to help us, he has thousands of methods, although this is an election, not a war. How can God help?

"During the Battle of Badr, God sent his cavalry, angels with swords, to fight alongside Muslims.

"The infidel army fled despite having the numbers, while the Muslim troops amounted to just 313. Where did their opponents come from?

"They were God's angels. God wanted to shock the infidel army," Nor Azariza told a crowd of some 400 people at Kampung Kemumin in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, last night.

According to him, there are many other instances in which Muslim mujahidin (holy warriors) were aided by angels.

"So, in an election, can God summon his angels with IC (MyKad) to line up and vote? Yes or no? It is easy, brothers and sisters," Nor Azariza said.

He then declared that God may send such angels in the place of Kelantanese residing in other states, who are reportedly unwilling to return home to vote.

"God may send angels who look like them to come back to vote, (the angels) carrying identity cards, standing in line ahead of us.

"We might bump into our old friend 'Man'. After voting, we might meet his father and ask, 'Has Man gone back to KL?'

"His father might reply, 'He didn't come back (to vote).

"So who was this 'Man' that we saw earlier? It is the angel that God had summoned for this purpose.

"Can God do so? Absolutely," he said.

Nor Azariza recalled that in 1990, when PAS wrested Kelantan from BN, the late Kelantan PAS leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat had remarked then that it was as though there was an understanding between the angels in heaven and the people on earth.
