GE14 | Perak Pakatan Harapan has pledged to declare a two-day state holiday on May 10 and 11 should they succeed in forming the state government in the 14th general election. 

Perak Harapan chief Faizal Azumu said this has been agreed to be all Harapan components in the state. 

"Harapan Perak urges all to fulfil their responsibilities as voters and to vote on May 9," Faizal said in a brief statement. 

Election day, May 9 falls on a Wednesday.

Amanah strategy director Dzulkefly Ahmad had proposed a national two day holiday should Harapan form the federal government. 

A petition is underway urging the Agong to declare polling day a national public holiday, while Penang and Selangor are mulling the same move on the state level.
