PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli has chided caretaker prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor for being offended by fellow PKR veep Nurul Izzah Anwar's alleged rudeness.

Rafizi said even if young politicians are rude, at least they are not thieves.

"If we're crass, or rude, at least we never stole the people's money.

"The one who stole millions of the people's money to make a lewd film in Hollywood isn't Ramli's son. That is Rosmah's son," Rafizi claimed, during a ceramah in Bagan Datuk last night.

He was referring to a claim by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) that Rosmah's son, Riza Aziz and his company Red Granite had received money allegedly misappropriated by 1MDB to finance the production of films, including 'The Wolf of Wall Street', which was banned in Malaysia because of overt profanity and nudity.

Red Granite has reached a settlement with the DOJ, which does not include an admission of guilt. Riza is still implicated in other assets that the department seeks to seize.

Rosmah on Friday said she was offended by Nurul Izzah, who allegedly did not address her by the honorific ‘datin seri’, or aunty, or mak cik. Nurul Izzah has since apologised.

In her speech in Lembah Pantai, Rosmah also took aim at Rafizi for purportedly lying about a diamond ring that she did not purchase.

Rafizi, however, questioned why the caretaker prime minister's wife would only focus on one piece of jewellery when there are other diamond scandals linked to her.

Among them are allegations that controversial carpet trader Deepak Jaikishan had paid RM13 million to purchase 19 pieces of jewellery for her in 2008 and 2009.

Rafizi also queried why Rosmah has remained silent on allegations on the pink diamond cited by the DOJ,

"She makes noise about one ring, but she doesn't answer about the pink diamond," he said.

The pink diamond refers to a US$27.3 million diamond necklace that the DOJ claimed had been purchased using funds allegedly misappropriated from 1MDB, and gifted to the wife of a figure the DOJ referred to only as 'Malaysian Official 1' (MO1)

Caretaker minister in the prime minister's department Abdul Rahman Dahlan has said that MO1 is Rosmah's husband Najib Abdul Razak.
