GE14 | The Tras state seat in Pahang is considered a DAP stronghold. But this time around, it will come under attack from a former party division leader.

And Chin Choy Hee will be riding into battle with a PAS banner.

The former Raub DAP division vice-chairperson had quit the party on Sunday and joined PAS' supporters wing.

PAS will be fielding him for the Tras seat.

According to Harakah Online, Choy said he lost faith in the DAP leadership for sidelining the views of the grassroots.

He said DAP announced that it will bring a candidate from Bentong to contest in Tras.

“DAP is bringing an unknown candidate to contest in Tras,” added the law graduate.

Meanwhile, Pahang PAS commissioner Rosli Abd Jabar urged voters to support the party's candidate in order to ensure justice for all races.

Previously, it was reported that DAP would field its incumbent Bilut assemblyperson Chow Yu Hui for the Tras seat.

Bilut is one of the state seats under the Bentong parliamentary constituency.

Chow, 35, will be replacing two-term representative Choong Siew Onn, who has decided not to seek re-election.

Based on the latest electoral roll, Tras has 28,995 voters, comprising 65.13 percent Chinese, 25.77 percent Malays, 8.95 percent Indians and 0.14 percent others.
