GE14 | Terengganu Pakatan Harapan has alleged that Umno is deliberately giving “easy passage” to the PAS candidate for Batu Buruk.

Its chairperson Raja Kamarul Bahrin Raja Ahmad said this is because Umno is fielding a lesser-known candidate to face PAS' Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi, the son of PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

"I am quite surprised that BN is fielding a lesser known candidate because they know they are going up against Hadi’s son.

“I feel that it is akin to Umno giving easy passage. Why is Umno not putting up a good fight against the president's son

"I feel that even Umno members are disappointed with the party running out of worthy candidates to face the PAS president's son," he told reporters after officiating the unveiling of state Harapan candidates in Kuala Terengganu today.

The incumbent Kuala Terengganu MP will also contest in the three-way fight for Batu Buruk.

BN will be fielding Zambri Awang Hitam, the local Umno division chief, for the seat.
